Methodology

D.R.A. Computing’s project methodology follows the proven Microsoft® Solutions Framework (MSF) based on using teams to rapidly develop solutions and deliver outcomes in a short timeframe. The MSF is a deliberate and disciplined approach to technology projects based on a defined set of principles, models, disciplines, concepts, guidelines, and proven practices from Microsoft.

The 4 stages of the approach shown below ensure a consistent delivery of application versions with appropriate controls and milestones.

The first stage begins with us taking a step back and assessing what is the best solution for each particular client’s requirements. This overview helps to define the correct strategies for the implementation of the solution, that will be in accordance with the constraints of the target environment, whether they are architectural, business, user, etc.

Often, the second stage is in the form of a proof-of-concept or pilot project, the outcomes of which can be fed as ‘lessons learned’ into subsequent phases.

The DRA project methodology allows for several stages of delivery, ensuring the most critical functions are delivered first, meaning your investment starts working for you sooner. This approach of breaking down deliverables into smaller, more manageable phases reduces risk, facilitates user adoption and change management strategies, and often results in a reduction of the overall solution costs.

DRA firmly believe in using small teams in a team model approach with specific roles and responsibilities – note that these teams are a combination of both customer and DRA (and 3rd parties where appropriate) with a clear focus on communication. Each of the teams work together (via the lead roles) to perform specific functions which contribute to the overall project success. This is best demonstrated by the following diagram:

This agile approach ensures a consistent delivery of project deliverables with appropriate controls and milestones, reducing risk and maximising your return on investment.

DRA take a proactive approach to risk management by identifying, analyzing, planning for, tracking and controlling risk factors as per the diagram below:

DRA are able to perform this process by using specially developed risk management software designed to support the Program Management Processes and accommodate specific requirements.
